About Smoky Mountain Babies

Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains has been our families favorite vacation spots for years. We always dreamed of moving to the mountains and getting closer to nature. We lived in Nashville, TN so visiting the Smokies was something we did on a regular basis. In July of 2005 we were vacationing with our daughter Jordan, who was 6 months old at the time. During that trip, we decided that we wanted to proceed with our dream. When we got home, we were going to put our home on the market and get ready to start our journey.

The Plan

When we returned home from vacation, we were a little disappointed to find that three of our neighbors had placed their homes on the market for sale. We knew then, that the timing was not right to make a move. We talked about our dreams and started praying about it. In December of 2005, after months of praying about it and doing research, we knew the time was right to move.

What a Surprise

We put our home on the market in January of 2006 and within two weeks, we had four offers. We were shocked that we sold our home so quickly and stepped up the pace to move. Within three weeks, we bought a new home in the Smokies, sold most of our belongings, said good bye to everone and packed up and headed to the mountains.

 The Reality

We arrived in Sevierville in Mid February of 2006 and started turning our new house into a home. During the day, we would scout out the area for a retail shop to lease and during the night, we would put our house together.

 We found THE Shop!

While in Nashville, we had hoped to find a shop in The Village to lease. We have always liked the atmosphere of The Village and really wanted to set up shop here. During our search for space, we kept coming up empty and we were getting a little discouraged. One day, while surfing the net, I saw a lease for sale on a website our realtor had told us about. We checked into it and knew that we had found the place. Two weeks later, we signed the lease on our shop in the Village and started preparing for opening. It took us a month to ready the shop and receive the merchandise. We officially opened our doors to the public on April 3, 2006 and we have been living our dream ever since.

In January of 2011, we decided that, while we loved the Village, the shop there was to small to do the things we wanted to do. So, we leased space on the Pi Beta Phi campus at light number 6 and moved our small shop into over 5,000 square feet of space!
